An ISO 9001 OEM designer and manufacturer of high tech dispensing systems, and part of a global operation with manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe, set a goal of acheiving 100% on-time delivery to its customers. Stockouts were identified as a major impediment, arising from unknown delivery schedule changes made by suppliers.

The objective was to establish a more reliable and timely mechanism for comunicating with their suppliers and to ensure any delivery changes were updated in their ERP system. The challenge was finding a solution which could connect electronically to suppliers in both North America and Europe for timely access to changes which then could be updated in the ERP. A supplier of engineering design and manufacture of parts and sub assemblies for aircraft manufacturers needed to reduce its cost structure to meet the ever-increasing needs of its large customers.

The objective was to implement a high-velocity inventory replenishment system to reduce costs associated with maintaining excessive inventory levels. The challenge was to increase order frequency while decreasing order quantity without having to hire additional staff.
